Ribbon Spool Gift Box or Jewelry Box

Hello Stampin' Friends!

So, this project is one of my entries for the Artisan Award this year.  I absolutely love how this little box turned out, and I always love seeing my items displayed at convention.  As you know I was not chosen as one of the top 20, but I still love pushing myself to see if I can make my projects better.  And you never know, maybe one day I'll make it.  Keep in mind that some of the items I used are items that have since retired.  We have plenty of items that it would be easily replaced with something out of the current catalog.

This 3D project is - Ribbon Spool Gift Box or Jewelry Box

SU! Supplies
Stamps - Take it to Heart, Loving Thoughts
CS - Pool Party, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
DSP - Attic Boutique
Inks - Soft Suede, Pool Party, Pretty in Pink
Markers - Soft Suede, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight, Always Artichoke
Bigz Dies - Scallop Circle, Clear Circle
Framelits - Hearts
Punches - Full Heart, Word Window
Ribbon - 3/8" Taffeta - Very Vanilla & 5/8" Crochet Trim - Victoria
Bakers Twine - Pool Party
Embellishments - Vintage Trinkets
Misc - Big Shot, Paper Piercer & Mat, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Sponge/Dauber, Sticky Tape, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mailing Tubes, Exacto Knife/Box Cutter

So, if you have some empty mailing tubes left from when we sold those Definitely Decorative items, then you can re-create this project.  Or you can go to the office supply store and purchase them and make several out of them.  You will need to different sizes, a larger circle for the base and a smaller circle for the lid.

There will be a Tutorial for this project soon, so be sure to check back in about a week.  I'm working hard to get all of my tutorials finished for all of you.  Luckily I'm blessed with a husband that doesn't mind helping me get them edited and touched up.

Hope you like.  I think it turned out really nice and I'm sure anyone would be pleased to receive this with a small gift inside!!

Enjoy!!  Thanks for letting me share!

Tea for Two Teapot

Hello Stampin' Friends,

This is another 3D project I made, this time I did it for the Late Night Stampers Artist of the Year.  We had to make one 3D item, one scrapbook page and three cards.  So this is my 3D project.  Each person who entered the contest had to set up a board on this table and then over the next few days people who were attending the Late Night Stampers events could vote once a day for their favorite.  They gave away prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd.  Unfortunately, I didn't win any of those spots, but that's okay I still had a great time making all of my items and you can't win if you don't enter, so it's always worth a try!!

So this 3D project is - Tea for Two Teapot

SU! Supplies
Stamps - Tea Shoppe
CS - Primrose Petal, Raspberry Ripple, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
DSP - Birds of a Feather
Inks - Primrose Petal, Raspberry Ripple, Lucky Limeade
Punches - Scallop Oval, Extra Large Oval, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, 1-1/4" Scallop Circle, Blossom Petals Builder
Framelits - Window Frames
Embosslit - Beautiful Wings
Ribbon - 3/8" Satin Stitched - Primrose Petal
Brads - Antique Brads
Jewels - Basic Rhinestones
Misc - Big Shot, Paper Piercer & Mat, Simply Scored, Bone Folder, Glue Dots, Sticky Strip, Dimensionals,  Sponge/Dauber

I think this turned out beautifully.  I really want to add a couple of Teacups to it to make it a cute set. And then add one of those little boxes that holds the individual teabags.  I think it would make it more of a complete ensemble. So I'm working on that now (along with everything else I'm doing - - - :o)

And once again I will be posting a Tutorial & Template once I get it all finalized.  I really want to add the Teacups before publishing a Tutorial & Template on this, but I just had to share what I had done so far anyway.  Once again, check back later for those up coming tutorials & templates.

Hope you enjoy!!

Drawer Organizer

Hello Stampin' Friends,

Here is another 3D project I made for the Late Night Stampers Shoebox Swap for the events we do before convention each year.  This is one of mine for the events this year, 2012.  I actually made 2 different ones with different stamp sets. Everyone seemed to enjoy it!  Hope you will too.

This 3D project is - Drawer Organizer

SU! Supplies
Stamps - Printed Petals
CS - Island Indigo, Whisper White, Calypso Coral
DSP - 2011-2013 In Color Collection - Pool Party Polka Dots
Inks - Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Pool Party
Markers - Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder
Punch - Modern Label
Sizzlit - Floral Fusion
Ribbons - 3/8" Ruffled Island Indigo & Calypso Coral
Brads - Silver
Jewels - Large Pearl Basic
Misc - Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Sponge/Dauber, Paper Piercer & Mat

For the second one I made I used the stamp set Mixed Bunch and the Blossom Punch.  I had stamped one of the flowers in Island Indigo and then punched the image out using the Blossom Punch.  I then punched out another Blossom Punch out of Island Indigo CS.  Using the Floral Fusion Sizzlit I cut out flowers out of Calypso Coral CS and then punched out small flowers using the Itty Bitty Shapes punch out of Island Indigo.  I layered those flowers and used a small Basic Rhinestone Jewel for the center of the flowers.  I then stamped my initial "G" using the Letter It Alphabet Stamp set and placed that in the center of the flower using the Calypso Coral Ink.  Then placed the smaller layered flowers around the big flower kind of like the one in the image above.  Since I used the Letter It initial in the center of the flower I eliminated the Label Punch  with my name.  The only other difference is that I used the Antique Brads instead of the ones pictured above since the ones in the picture have since retired.  I then placed a Large Basic Pearl at each corner on the bottom of the Drawer Organizer to give it the look of "feet".  It turned out really nice and makes it a bit more personal when you give it an initial or put a name on it.  Makes a great gift!

Yes, I will be posting the Tutorial & Template once I get the several that are in the works done.  So do check back later.  Plus, if I can find the pictures of the second version of this box I will post it so you can see the difference between the two.

Hope you enjoy!

3 Pocket Caddy

Hello Stampin' Friends!

So I know it's been a few days since I've been on here to give you some new "inspirations", but you know how it goes when it's getting towards the end of summer. Seems like everything happens at once!

Anyway, on to the project!!  This is a 3D project that I made for one of the Shoebox Swaps I was in at the Late Night Stampers convention events.

This project is - 3 Pocket Caddy

SU! Supplies
Stamps - Layered Labels
CS - Rose Red, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
DSP - Floral District
Inks - Rose Red, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango
Punches - Large Oval, Bird Builder
Framelit - Apothecary Accents
Bigz Die - Blossom Party
Ribbon - 1/2" Seam Binding - Baja Breeze
Baker's Twine - Lucky Limeade
Buttons - Clear Bitty Buttons
Misc - Big Shot, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Sponge/Dauber

You could add a little card and some hot chocolate and give as a treat to someone who may be under the weather.  Another idea is to use some Christmas colors and Christmas DSP and maybe fill with hot chocolate or some Christmas goodies and give to a neighbor or friend.  With school starting back soon it may be a good teacher's gift.  I'm sure there are tons of things you can do with this cute little caddy.

I will have a tutorial and template for this soon, so check back as I'm working on several tutorials and trying to get them finalized and finished.  My goal is to have all the tutorials and templates for all my previous projects up by 2nd week in Sept.  Plus, I've got some really cool new tutorials and templates in the making now that you will want to come back for.

Hope you enjoy!

Happy Boo Day Card

Hello Stampin' Friends!

This is my second card I made for Convention 2012 for my individual swaps.  This card ended up being very popular!!  I made 100 of them and I think I only have a few left!!

So, the first 5 people who email me and comment on my card, I will send you one!  Be sure to give me your address when you email me!  I will announce the winners once I have all 5!

This is just a card front, not a full card.  But I would be happy to send one to you if you would like one as a sample.  Just email me and comment on this card here on my blog!!

I call it - Happy Boo Day

SU! Supplies
Stamps - Googly Ghouls, Wacky Wishes, Fabulous Phrases
CS - Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry
DSP - In Color 2011-2013 Collection - Lucky Limeade Stripes
Inks - Basic Black, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry, Stazon Black
Bigz Dies - Top Note, Typeset Alphabet
Punches - Little Labels
Ribbon - 1/8" Taffeta - Basic Black
Embellishment - Googlies
Misc - Big Shot, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Daubers/Sponges

I think this turned out really cute, and the Googly Eyes just push it to that extra cute category.  This card would be great as a Halloween Card or if someone has a Birthday around Halloween, it's great as one of those "dual" cards.

Hope you Enjoy!

Lacy Hello Card

Hello Stampin' Friends!

Today I am sharing one of the swaps I made for Convention 2012.  This was just for my individual swaps (the ones I swap with other individual demos).  I made 100 of these and pretty much swapped all of them.  I think I came back with only a handful of them.

Since I have some left over cards, I will give a few away for free!  Now these are just card fronts only, they are not full cards.  But they would be great for your sample wall or tree.

The first 5 people who email me and make a comment here on my blog will receive one! Be sure give me your address when you email me.  I will announce the winners once I have 5!

I call this - Lacy Hello Card

SU! Supplies
Stamps - Lacy & Lovely
CS - Baja Breeze, Primrose Petals, Whisper White
Inks - Baja Breeze, Primrose Petal, VersaMark
Punches - 2-3/8" Scallop Circle, 1-3/4" Circle, 1" Circle
Emboss Folder - Perfect Polka Dots
Emboss Powder - White
Ribbon - 3/8" Taffeta - Whisper White
Brad - 1/8" Mini Silver
Misc - Big Shot, Heat Tool, Paper Piercer & Mat, Daubers/Sponges

This was a pretty simple card and would be good for a workshop.  I also think it's a card that you can change around the colors and would be just as fabulous.

I absolutely LOVED using the new Heat Tool!!  It has 2 settings, the low if for drying ink and the high is for the embossing.  It's so quiet on both settings, and worked wonderfully.  So I definitely recommend this to anyone who is on the fence about buying the new Heat Tool.  I am very happy that I went ahead and invested in the new one.

Hope you enjoy!

Little House Gift Box with Tag

Hello Stampin' Friends!

So here is the gift I made for the LNS Gift Exchange for Convention 2012.  I made a second one for the SUDSOL Gift Exchange that took place on Friday afternoon at Lunch in the Gathering Place.  The House was the same, the contents I put in the box was different.

This is the outside of house. The opposite side just has a window and the trim, and the other 2 sides just have trim.

Inside of house. One side of roof is stationary and the other lifts up to reveal contents of box.

This is the tag, which is just hanging around the chimney.

SU! Supplies Used
Stamps - Friendly Phrases
CS - Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
DSP - Comfort Cafe
Inks - Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Punches - Scallop Edge, Extra Large Tag, Hand
Buttons - Natural Designer Button
Brad - 3/16" Neutral Brad
Thread - Linen Thread
Misc - Sticky Tape, Dimensionals, Exacto Knife, Glue Dots, Dauber

This house turned out really cute.  And everyone who saw it in person seemed to love it.  I made some little packets of chocolates using our cello bags and made a topper for it to match.  I also included a package of the new slides for the ribbon.  The ladies who ended up with them seemed very pleased that they were the winners of this little house.

I am working on the tutorial for this, along with a video.  So check back soon for both of those items.

Hope you enjoy!

Owl Gift Bag

Hello Stampin' Friends!

Well today I'm sharing a project I made for the Late Night Stampers (LNS) Gift Exchange.  Let me tell you that we had sooooooooo much fun with this gift exchange!!

So, we were to make a project from current Stampin' Up supplies and then put it in a gift bag that had an owl on the front.  The owl is our group mascot.  Our gift was suppose to be no more than $10.

Let me say that the day that we did the gift exchange had been a long one.  We had been at Stamp Camp from 8am-1pm, then we had lunch from 1pm-2pm, then we did a 3D Shoebox Swap from 2pm to 4pm, we had a break for dinner from 4pm-7pm which some of us didn't get the whole time because we ran late with our shoebox swap due to the difficulty of our projects, plus we are starting to wear a little thin (tired).  So then we met back to do a WOW demonstration that was from 7pm-9pm.  Then once everything finished up with that all of us that were participating in the Gift Exchange had to place their bag on a table and grab a chair and have a seat in a circle.  I think if I remember right we ended up with 15 players.

So, here is what transpired next........remember we have all been working very hard ALL DAY, and it is now about 9:30pm or 9:45pm.

Ok, so Sherrill (our fearless leader) makes these numbers and puts them in a container for us each to draw a number for our place in line for picking our gift.  Everyone takes a number, and some are more excited about their numbers then others, and the reason being that is this.............we start with 1 and the person with #1 gets to go pick a gift bag first.  They open it and share what they received.  Most try and down play what it is, because.............this is a "steal your gift type of exchange"!!!  Meaning that the person with #2 can either get a new gift bag or go and take the gift bag from #1 person.  But see there are limits on how many times you can "steal" a gift.  A gift can only be taken 3 times and then it's "frozen" and cannot be stolen anymore.  And the reason why some got so excited over their numbers is because the person with #1 gets to choose first and goes again last.  The other great number is to be #15, because you get to go last and choose from most everything as long as it's not frozen.  And everyone gets a chance to "steal" or get a gift off of the table.

So you can only imagine how silly this game became because we were all so tired from the days events and now we are "stealing" from each other, or trying to keep others from stealing from us.  It was so crazy, but sooooooo much fun!!!  A couple of times we were laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes.  We will never forget the fun time we had that night!! (even if someone did steal from another person several times in a row......sorry!)   :o)

Anyway, here is the Gift Bag I made for this fun game!
I will post the gift that was inside in my next post with all the details!!

If you didn't get to join the LNS group this year at convention, you got to check it out next year!!  We have a great time making projects, winning prizes, and doing fun things like stealing gift bags....LOL!  Really, we have an awesome time and we would love to have you join us next year at Stampin' Up's 25th Anniversary Convention 2013!  Check out our group by visiting this LINK.

Pouty Pumpkin Page

Hello Stampin' Friends!

Here is a scrapbook page I did for the Late Night Stampers (LNS) Artist of the Year.  They did this for those who wanted to enter and were attending Convention 2012.  We had to make 1 Scrapbook Page, 1 3D Item, 3 Cards.  This was the scrapbook page that I did for my entry.

I call this - Pouty Pumpkin Page

SU! Supplies Used
Stamps - Pennant Parade
CS - Sahara Sand, Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
DSP - Floral District
Inks - Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade
Markers - Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black
Bigz Die - Tasteful Trim
Framelit - Itty Bitty Banners
Punches - Petite Pennants Builder, Boho Blossoms, 3/4" Circle, 1/2" Circle
Baker's Twine - Lucky Limeade
Embellishments - Library Clips, Vintage Trinkets, Metallic Brads, Brights Button
Computer - Printed Titles on Whisper White CS
Misc - Big Shot, Paper Piercer & Mat, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

I didn't win the Artist of the Year, but I still enjoyed creating the projects for the contest.  You can't win if you don't try, so I tried and had fun doing so!!

Strawberry Trifle Recipe Page

Hello Stampin' Friends!

I took a day off from posting to get some things done around the house and a few errands as well.  So now I'm back to posting a few things each day.

Today I have a scrapbook page that I did for the Late Night Stampers (LNS) Recipe Swap.  We did this swap the Sunday before Convention 2012.  I will post all of the great swaps I received once I get some of my other things posted.  So you will get to see them a little later.

I call this - Strawberry Trifle Recipe Page

SU! Supplies Used
Stamps - Fruits & Flowers
CS - Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
DSP - Brights Collection
Inks - Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Regal Rose
Markers - Real Red, Old Olive
Punches - Scallop Square, Itty Bitty Shapes
Bigz Dies - Tasteful Trim
Ribbon - 1/8" Taffeta - Daffodil Delight
Jewels - Basic Pearls
Misc - Big Shot, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

I really like the way this page turned out.  It is a 6x6 page that can be put on a 8x8 piece of CS and then placed into one of our 8x8 Binders.  That is what I plan on doing with all of the great pages I received from the LNS Recipe Swap.  This is a wonderful recipe for Strawberry Trifle, and it's really easy to make too.

For those that are interested here is the Strawberry Trifle Recipe.

Strawberry Trifle - Serves 12-15

Ingredients

14 oz. Angel Food Cake or Sara Lee Pound Cake, divided
18 oz. Strawberry Preserves, divided
3 cups Fresh Sliced Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries &/or Blackberries
2 pkgs. (3.5 oz.) Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix
2 cups Milk
8 oz. Sour Cream (I use light sour cream)
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
8 oz. Whipped Topping (I use a light cool whip)
1/2 cup Chopped Nuts &/or 1/4 cup grated Chocolate (I like using sliced almonds)

Preparation
  • Slice half of Angel Food Cake or Pound Cake into 1/2-inch cubes; line bottom of trifle bowl with cake.  Spread 1/2 or 1 cup of Strawberry Preserves over cake pieces.  Sprinkle 1/2 of the berry mixture on top of the preserves & cake. Save a few of the strawberries and other berries for the top of the trifle.
  • Combine Instant Pudding Mix with Milk and beat until well blended; stir in Vanilla extract.  Fold in Sour Cream until well blended.  Next Fold in Whipped Topping until well blended.  Be sure to Fold and not stir vigorously.  You want a nice blended fluffy mixture.
  • Pour half of pudding mixture on top of berry mixture in trifle bowl.  Cut the remaining Angel Food Cake or Pound Cake into cubes; spread with remaining preserves.  Add remaining berries.  Top with pudding mixture.
  • Put saved strawberries and other berries on the top and then sprinkle with Chopped Nuts & Grated Chocolate.
  • Refrigerate for a couple hours before serving.
  • Serve & Enjoy!!
Hope you enjoy the Recipe Layout & and the Strawberry Trifle Recipe!  If you do use the recipe please come back and post about it by leaving a comment.  Also you can direct others to my blog for the recipe if you like.

This usually ends up being a big huge favorite once you try it.  My hubby loves it and asks for it often.  This is such an easy recipe that I make it for my parties that I hold, or I take it when I have a potluck to go to.
